How Does Franny’s Kitchen Work?

How it works
  • We prepare fresh home-cooked meals daily and deliver them ourselves directly to your door.
  • You can choose just a single dinner or let us do the heavy lifting to provide meals Monday through Thursday.
  • Just sign up for our mailing list to receive the menu for the coming week in your inbox every Thursday.
  • There is no obligation to order. If you see a menu you like, simply fill out an order form online indicating which days you’d like a delivery and for how many meals.
  • There is no minimum for either number of meals or number of days.
About our food
  • Each week you can expect a variety of menus that cover a broad spectrum of flavors and culinary influences.
  • We offer wholesome meals with minimally processed ingredients that are no different from what you might cook if you were behind the stove.
  • One day might be vegetarian enchiladas with Franny’s famous black beans, while the next you’ll find roast lemon herb chicken, potatoes, and a colorful, crunchy salad.
Orders
  • Deadline for Monday orders is Sunday at 1 pm.
  • Deadline for Tuesday through Thursday meals is Sunday at midnight.
  • We accept late orders on a case-by-case basis depending on availability. Contact us directly at frannyskitchen@yahoo.com to see if we can accommodate your request.
  • Need to cancel your order? No problem - just give us at least 48 hours notice.
Payment
  • Full payment is due prior to on the first delivery of the week.
  • We accept the following methods of payment:
    • Checks - payable to “Franny's Kitchen, LLC”. Leave them at your front door for pick up or mail them:

    • Cash - make sure to 1) label the envelope “Franny” and 2) add your address or customer name printed on the envelope.
Delivery
  • There is a $6 delivery fee for each day a delivery is made.
  • Meals are delivered daily between 2:00pm – 5:30pm.
  • If you won’t be home to receive your meals, please let us know of a secure spot to leave your delivery
  • If you have an issue with your order, please send a same-day text or call at (415) 672-4213.
Others
  • Food is best reheated in the oven or stovetop at a moderate temperature for 10 - 15 minutes. If you find yourself short on time, you can microwave for appromately 2 - 3 min on high.
  • Need to cancel a delivery? No problem - just give us at least 48 hours notice.
  • Mondays are always meatless by default, but you may purchase additional meat proteins as an Extra.

Frequenty Asked Questions

What are your safety precautions regarding the COVID-19 global pandemic?

Your health and safety are our top priority. We follow all CDC and city health ordinances. We record our temperatures daily, wear face masks, and use gloves. We have hand sinks with soap as well as provide sanitizer. We work in a large, well ventilated professional kitchen with plenty of space for social distancing.

Can you deliver to my area?

We do daily meal delivery everywhere throughout the city of San Francisco. Our catering operation extends beyond the city to cover events throughout the Bay Area from Friday to Sunday. We apply a delivery fee for catering based on location.

 

Note as a small family-run business, we may impose delivery restrictions or requirements in areas like downtown SF, Oracle Ballpark, or Warriors Stadium. It can be difficlut or unsafe to deliver to these areas under certain conditions if there is a home game and there is no available safe accessible parking. In this case, we ask that someone is able to receive the delivery (yourself or doorman, or we can leave in lobby).

How do I pay you for my meals?

We accept checks and cash. We will track your payments and if you miss one, the system will send you a reminder with your total due.

What are the day and time cut offs for orders each week?

We will send out the weekly menu on Thursday evenings. Order by Sunday at 1pm for Monday orders and Sunday at midnight for Tuesday to Thursday.

Can I make changes to my order after I’ve submitted?

You can update your order as long as it is before the order deadlines mentioned above. Orders for Monday must be edited before Sunday at 1pm, and orders for the rest of the week can be edited before Sunday at midnight.

Can I request substitutions in my order?

We are unable to customize your order or do any substitutions. Our meals are made in very large batches, so it's not possible to remove any key ingredients from the recipe. If you wish to exclude garnishes, we will do our best to remove them.

 

Note that our food is prepared in a commercial kitchen which is NOT nut or allergen free. Unfortunately, if you have severe allergies, our service may not be the best fit for you. Our apologies.

What is the portion size for one meal?

When you order one (1) meal on our menu, this is a portion and price for one person. However, the food does come packed family style, so if you ordered 2, 3, or 4 portions for a dish, it will likely come in a single box or container.

Our food portions roughly measure out to include:

  • 5oz of cooked protein
  • 1 cup of carbs / grain
  • 4oz of cooked veggies
  • Salads portions are quite large and not measured

Is your food spicy?

Our meals are prepared to be mildly spicy. Very rarely would a dish be medium spicy.

We cater events large and small, covering everything from office breakfasts to business lunches, and private events. We will work with you to develop menus tailored to your taste and budget. Meals start at $11.50 per person based on a 15 person minimum. Please contact us for more details.
