My passion for cooking can be traced back to my upbringing in a Costa Rican and Cuban family, where meals were at the center of our home life. I have fond memories of gathering around a table for lively conversation and a cross-cultural buffet of flavors. While I take comfort in the cuisines of my upbringing, I also enjoy experimenting with new flavors and prioritize good health when it comes to cooking.
I have been working in the culinary field since my first job out of high school. Since then, my career as a culinary professional has taken me to the kitchens of The Ritz Carlton, One Market, and Specialties. I also spent six years as the Bake House General Manager for Whole Foods Market and worked as a food and recipe consultant for Discovery Foods and Green Chile Kitchen. Perhaps the most valuable experience I bring to my work, however, is the 20-plus years I’ve spent running the kitchen of my own home, nourishing my three hungry boys.
